It’s shoulder season here in London, as we transition towards winter and all of the festive goings on that Christmas brings. But don’t be fooled into thinking there’s nothing going on. It’s quite the opposite! October is packed with events of all kinds, and here’s just a few of our highlights nearby to Euston Square Hotel. Frieze Masters 

Calling all art lovers!  Frieze Masters comes to  London’s Regent’s Park this October 12-16th. Exhibiting the works of artists through the centuries, you can explore thousands of years of art history from the ancient era and Old Masters to the late 20th century. You’ll also be able to explore the current art scene, with Frieze London exhibiting the world’s most exciting contemporary artists, from the emerging to the iconic.

Regent’s Park is a very short walk from us here at Euston Square Hotels, so make the most of your stay with this excellent event. You’ll also find related exhibitions and shows around town, so do look out for those too.

The British Library

The vast and venerable institution that is The British Library is just a few minutes walk from us, and well worth a visit. The scale of their collections is mind-blowing, and they host a fine array of events too. This month is no exception, with a broad selection of events covering all sorts of divers topics and interests:

October 21st – How to start a hospitality business workshop – Explore the best ways of opening and running a viable and profitable food business.

October 21st – Somali Week Festival Launch 2022 – Enjoy an evening of conversation and performance at the launch of this year’s festival.

October 27th – Cartography on the Front Line – Exploring the historical and contemporary links between war making and map making.

Bloomsbury Festival

Local, Global, Inspiring. Bloomsbury is a unique area, known internationally for its garden squares and stately buildings, its universities and its literary connections. Taking place in October, Bloomsbury Festival is an annual celebration of the area’s creativity, presenting an inspiring programme of culture, arts, science, literature, performance, discussion and debate.

This October the Festival includes over 100 events across 10 days, with an exciting mix of contemporary arts, music, performance, theatre, science displays, talks, walks and community events. Many are presented by emerging artists, writers and academics, others by established professionals, and some by the local community.

London Oktoberfest 

And finally, how about culture of a different sort? London Oktoberfest is upon us! This year you’ll find not one but two sites to swill steins of fine German beer. October 20-23rd – Walpole Park Ealing; October 27-30th – Lillie Road Recreation Ground. London Oktoberfest has become a cult event you have to witness to believe. Sing along and take a swing on the dancefloor while enjoying Ompha-Ompha music, a bratwurst and a German beer – what more could you want??
