October is a great time to stay with us at Euston Square Hotel, London. The leaves are falling but it’s not too cold, and the city is in that period of almost calm before we start to ramp up for Christmas. So what do you say? This month we welcome the return of the NFL to London, with three epic American football games taking place in the capital. Expect an amazing show full of athletic prowess, showmanship and half-time entertainment.
1st October: Atlanta Falcons vs Jacksonville Jaguars
8th October: Buffalo Bills vs Jacksonville Jaguars
15th October: Baltimore Ravens vs Tennessee Titans
The first game will be played at Wembley Stadium, just an easy hop from us by Tube. The remaining games take place at Tottenham Hotspur’s stadium, which is the first purpose-built NFL stadium outside of the US. The stadium’s real-turf football pitch divides into three sections which can be rolled away to reveal a permanent NFL field hidden beneath. Quite something! For more details, see HERE.
Just around the corner at London Zoo, a short walk across Regent’s Park from us here at Euston Square Hotel, you will find Land of the Lions. You will encounter a pride of endangered Asiatic lions, able to observe them through a special windowless view of the their enclosure. You enter through a crumbling ruin, the Lion’s Temple, designed to transport you to the lions’ homes in Sasan Gir, India. It’s quite the set up, with a replica train station complete with Hanuman monkeys, and various other themed attractions, alongside the rest of the zoo itself. It is of course Halloween this month, and you will find no shortage of events around the city, though it’s a smaller affair in London than you may find in New York or elsewhere in the US. However, we can recommend a short trip out of central London to see Dark Arts at the Warner Bros. Harry Potter Studio Tour. On until 5th November, it’s a chance to step inside the Harry Potter film sets, but with a darker, spookier twist. Experience Halloween at Hogwarts, hunt for the Dark Mark of Voldemort and the Death Eaters, learn wand combat, and much more… It’s a fun day out for all the family, and thanks to our excellent travel connections at Euston Square, it’s an easy journey.
